Pre-school Readiness & Development Program

Goals

_edited.jpg

The Board/Video Game Group is a structured, inclusive program that supports learners through play-based learning. Using video, board and card games as the primary activity, the group helps children practice social

interaction, communication, emotional regulation, and cognitive skills in a predictable and supportive environment. Games are selected and adapted to accommodate a wide range of sensory, developmental, and learning needs. The group emphasizes enjoyment, connection, and confidence-building rather than competition or performance. Learners are encouraged to participate at their own comfort level, with individualized support.

  • Encourage positive social interaction (turn-taking, sharing, cooperation)

  • Build communication skills (asking for help, expressing choices)

  • Support emotional regulation (coping with winning/losing, waiting)

  • Develop problem-solving and flexible thinking

  • Provide a fun, low-pressure social experience

Program Structure:

  • Small group sizes to reduce overwhelm.

  • Visual schedules and clear rules explained step-by-step.
