School-Based Support
Ongoing monitoring of children behaviours and growth progress
Behavior Intervention School Support typically involves a combination of strategies, techniques, and interventions aimed at promoting positive behaviour and reducing or eliminating negative behaviours. The Behaviour Consultant will conduct a Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA) to understand the function or purpose of a student's behaviour and create a Behaviour Intervention Plan (BIP).
The Behaviour Interventionist will support the student by following the BIP. Ongoing monitoring of a student's behaviour and the effectiveness of interventions is essential. Adjustments to the intervention plan may be made based on progress. Behaviour Intervention School Support is often a collaborative effort involving teachers, school administrators, special education professionals, and sometimes external specialists. The aim is to create an environment that fosters positive behaviour, social-emotional development, and academic success for all students.
