Summer is often every child’s favorite time of year — and for good reason. It’s a chance to take a break from the school-year rush, explore new interests, and grow in ways that traditional classrooms may not always allow. For children with autism, summer offers an especially important opportunity: time to focus on building skills at their own pace while having fun and making friends.
At Bridge Kids BC, we’ve launched a series of specialized autism friendly summer programs designed to help children and teens develop social skills, build academic readiness, and discover their own unique strengths.

Kids Entrepreneur Club:
For future leaders and young business minds, this program introduces basic money concepts, financial literacy, and foundational entrepreneurship skills in a fun, supportive environment. It’s ideal for kids who learn best outside of traditional classroom settings and want to explore real-world thinking through hands-on activities.
Through creative role-playing activities, kids will simulate running their own business, learning how to calculate profit and loss, identify customer needs, and design products or services that offer real solutions. They’ll also practice public speaking, learning how to confidently present their ideas and connect with others.
What they’ll gain:
A solid foundation in saving, spending
Practical business skills through role-play and teamwork
Problem-solving from a customer’s perspective
Public speaking and presentation skills
Confidence in sharing and pitching their ideas
Teamwork and collaboration with peers
Lego Club Lego Club:
Children are naturally drawn to play — it’s how they explore the world and build essential life skills. Our Lego Club is designed to harness that joy and energy, helping kids develop through creative, hands-on learning.
Each session brings a group of children together to plan, build, and problem-solve using Lego bricks. They’ll practice teamwork, exercise their creativity, and learn to communicate and cooperate with peers to bring their ideas to life. It’s play with purpose — and plenty of fun.
What they’ll gain:
Strengthened fine motor skills
Teamwork and communication abilities
Creative problem-solving and perseverance
Imaginative thinking
Greater self-confidence in group settings

Cool Connection
The Outing is a social group designed for children in Grades 5–7, offering a mix of indoor and outdoor activities. The focus is on building positive social interactions, teamwork, and friendship through relaxed, real-world activities.
On the first day, children will learn how to plan a group outing — from choosing a destination to organizing what’s needed. In the days that follow, they’ll put their plans into action by going on local trips, navigating public transportation, and interacting with businesses. Along the way, they’ll practice making purchases, asking questions, and communicating politely in real-world situations.
What they’ll gain:
Real-world planning and decision-making skills
Confidence in using public transit and handling money
Improved communication and peer interaction
A stronger sense of independence and responsibility

Yogies and Movers
Yogies and Movers is an interest-based class designed for energetic younger kids who love to move. Blending yoga, Pilates, and mindfulness with playful storytelling and interactive games, this class helps children build physical and emotional strength in a fun, supportive environment.
Kids will follow along with the instructor as they explore movement through guided activities that encourage focus, flexibility, and self-awareness — all while having a blast.
What they’ll gain:
Improved strength, balance, and flexibility
Emotional regulation through simple mindfulness techniques
Greater focus and calmness
A love for movement in a joyful, inclusive setting

School Readiness
Our School Readiness Program is designed to help young children smoothly transition into the new school year. Through fun and structured activities, we focus on building the foundational skills needed for success in the classroom — socially, emotionally, and academically.
Activities include circle story time, where children listen to stories and explore early concepts like letters and seasons; snack time, which encourages socializing and sharing with peers; and structured group activities that help them learn to follow instructions and participate in classroom routines.
What they’ll gain:
Understanding and participating in classroom routines
Listening and following multi-step instructions
Early literacy
Greater independence and emotional self-regulation
Improved social skills through sharing and group activities
