Program Objective: 

 

The Neptune Group is the entry-level of the intermediate groups. It aims to build upon the foundational social skills acquired in the Earth Social Group, empowering elementary school children to navigate more complex social dynamics. The objective is to guide students in refining their abilities to engage in advanced conversations, navigate intricate peer interactions, and solve group problems more independently. Learners will develop proficiency in sophisticated behaviors such as nuanced reciprocal conversations, managing constructive criticism, addressing more subtle forms of teasing and bullying, enhancing cooperative play, and deeply respecting diverse interests. The program focuses on fostering common learning goals that promote advanced social skills within a group setting. We aim to enhance these concepts through social stories, advanced role-playing, video modelling, natural environment play, and the Everyday Speech curriculums. Individualized support continues through personalized goals, tailored to each learner's unique challenges. The program includes dynamic group activities such as intricate games, complex projects, and deep reciprocal conversations, ensuring participants not only learn but confidently apply these vital social skills in increasingly challenging real-life scenarios. The Neptune Group is committed to nurturing socially adept and confident young individuals, equipped with the skills necessary for successful social interactions at the intermediate level.

• Enhance understanding of the size of problems, with a focus on nuanced differentiation between small and significant issues.

• Use real-life examples, case studies, and interactive discussions to illustrate problem sizes and appropriate responses.

Problem Reaction/Solution Identification:

• Teach the advanced process of identifying and responding to reactions and solutions to various problems.

• Engage participants in critical thinking exercises, group discussions, and scenario analysis.

Advanced Non-Verbal Communication:

• Explore and understand complex non-verbal communication cues, including body language and facial expressions.

• Practice appropriate reactions to non-verbal cues through interactive and detailed exercises.

Your child's progress is monitored throughout the term; not just at the end.

 

Before the program
An individual assessment helps us identify learning needs, establish goals, and determine appropriate group placement.

 

During each session
Facilitators observe and support each learner through complex perspectives such as role-playing & group discussions participation, self advocacy & constructive communication skills, problem-solving awareness peer relations & interactions through verbal and nonverbal communication, behaviour, and progress toward their individualized learning goals.

 

Every month
Our facilitators meet to review learner progress and discuss programming adjustments and group placement when needed.

 

Mid-term
Families have an individual meeting with our team to discuss their child's progress, goals, and next steps.

 

End of term
Families receive a written progress report summarizing their child's progress and areas for continued development.
