School readiness is highly correlated to school achievement. Early math and reading skills are significant predictors of higher levels of academic performance (Duncan, G. J., Dowsett, C. J., Claessens, A., Magnuson, K., Huston, A. C., Klebanov, P. & Japel, C., 2007; Romano, E., Babchishin, L., Pagani, L. S., & Kohen, D., 2010). Attention and emotional regulation are also influential factors for school success. This program aims to prepare young children for kindergarten and will recreate a kindergarten setting. Children will learn to exercise various academic and life skills such as following group instructions, early math, phonological awareness, maintaining focus/attention, emotional regulation, and more. To ensure children have a positive learning experience, they will learn through play-based activities through positive and supportive feedback in the program.
