Description:

Summer Fun Game Club at Bridge Kids is a play-date program for learners who need opportunities with their peers to practice their socialisation and play skills in a safe environment.

This play-date program is for the learners who need to generalise specific social and group play skills that they have knowledge of but rarely use when most desired (e.g., learners know that they should follow the game rules when playing UNO with friends, but they tried to cheat in order to win) or they demonstrate socially desirable skills in limited settings (e.g., learners share toys and play with their behaviour interventionist during 1:1 session but do not play with their peers). The group will get together for 1 hr and 45 minutes each Saturday morning in July and August for six play-date sessions. This group will be facilitated by a behaviour consultant, BCaBA, and supported by one Behaviour Interventionist for a group of 4-8 children.

Requirements:

This program is for children who have conversational skills, are able to remain in  designated area and attend to group instructions without one on one support from an adult. Learners who require 1:1 support  may bring his/her own BI. BK learners with their BC’s recommendation to the play-date program are accepted to the Summer Fun Club.  Each learner’s BC will choose 1-2 target behaviour for generalisation by completing a learner profile sheet specific to the Summer Fun Club prior to the start of the program.
