Arts And Crafts

Day: Thursday

Date: July 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th

Time: 1:00-1:30 pm

Age: 5-7 (children younger or older may be accepted and

screening might be required)

Facilitator: Ms. Phyllis Yip 

Cost: $100/course (4 classes per course)

Deliverable:

  • Online via Zoom

Learning objectives:

  • Following simple group instructions

  • Listening skills

  • Expressive language skills

Potential Candidates/ prerequisites: 

  • Individuals who required minimal support to attend to the screen and stay in one spot (in front of the computer) for a minimum of 20-25 mins

  • Have basic fine motor skills and able to use scissors with minimum prompts (adaptive scissors are acceptable)

  • Able to follow one step instructions, i.e. find the pink paper, draw a big happy face etc

  • Reading skill is not necessary

  • Parents/ guardians’ presence (in the same room) is required for the entire session for any physical and technical assistance 

Materials:

  • Material kit available (for local families)

  • Self-assembled material set (a detailed list with picture will be provided)

  • Laptops, desktops, tablets: remote control of instructor’s screen will not be used

  • Phones are not recommended

 

Lesson overview:

  • Circle time: greetings, stories

  • Revisit of simple literacy or math concepts

  • Social time: show and tell, interactive games

  • Arts and crafts: student will produce one art/craft piece together with the instructor each lesson

Coding and Computer FUN

Day: Tuesday

Date: July 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th 

Time: 2:30-:3:15 pm

Age: 7-10 (children younger or older may be accepted and screening might be required)

Facilitator: Mr. Norman Tang 

Cost: $120/course (4 classes per course)

Class size: 4 -6 children/class

45 minutes engagement time 

Deliverable:

  • Online via Zoom

 

Learning objectives: 

  • Coding skills

  • Following instructions

  • Demonstrating expected behaviour 

  • Conversational skills

Potential Candidates/ prerequisites: 

  • Individuals who required minimal support to attend to the screen and stay in one spot (in front of the computer) for a minimum of 30 mins

  • Able to follow simple 1 to 2 steps of verbal instructions

  • Able to control a computer mouse

Materials:

  • Laptops, desktops, tablets

 

Lesson overview:

  • Conversation: greetings, recall past events

  • Coding concepts

  • Logical thinking

Heading 5

Music

Day: Friday

Date: July 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st

Time: 1:00-1:30 pm

Age: 4-6 (children younger or older may be accepted and screening might be required)

Facilitator: Ms. Alisa Ip

Cost: $100/course (4 classes per course)

Class size: 4 children/class

30 minutes engagement time

Deliverable:

  • Online via Zoom

 

Learning objectives:

  • Following simple group instructions

  • Turn Taking Skills

  • Imitation Skills

Potential Candidates/ prerequisites: 

  • Individuals who required minimal support to attend to the screen and stay in one spot (in front of the computer) for a minimum of 20-25 mins

  • Able to follow one step instructions, i.e. clapping hands and raising arms

  • Reading skill is not necessary

  • Parents/ guardians’ presence (in the same room) is required for the entire session for any physical and technical assistance 

 

Materials:

  • Laptops, desktops, tablets

  • Phones are not recommended

 

Lesson overview:

  • Circle time: greetings, stories, singing

  • Revisit of simple classroom rules

  • Social time: interactive games (i.e.: follow the leader)

  • learning about musical instruments

Heading 5

Social Game Group

Day: Wednesday

Date: July 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th

Time: 2:00-2:30 pm

Age: 7-10 (children younger or older may be accepted and screening might be required)

Facilitator: Ms. Hillery Huang 

Cost: $100/course (4 classes per course)

Learning objectives:

  • Participating in group games

  • Turn-taking

  • Listening skills

  • Staying on topic

  • Social cues and rules

 

Potential Candidates/ prerequisites: 

  • Individuals who required minimal support to attend to the screen and stay in one spot (in front of the computer) for a minimum of 20-25 mins

  • Reading skill is required

 

Materials:

  • Laptops, desktops, tablets

  • Phones are not recommended

Lesson overview:

  • Expected and unexpected behaviour concepts

  • Social time: interactive games (e.g.: riddle, singing, reading and acting)
