Playdate Programs - Fall 2022

Playdates are a great way to improve social and play skills of learners.

Initial Assessment

Initial Assessment is required  for non-BKBC students

This includes: 1 hour of in-person assessment and an individualized plan with playdate goals

Total number of charging hours: 2 hours 

Cost: It depends on the BC’s hourly wage

 

Parents will need to confirm prior to the beginning of each term if they want their kids to participate in a playdate program. There will be 10 sessions per term. The program term payments must be paid in full for the entire term prior to the first session.
 


Plan A

Ratio: 1 Senior BI with 2 learners

Location: Centre-based

Playdates are a great way to improve the social and play skills of learners. Each class will be designed and facilitated by a Senior BI. Playdates will be paired by BCBAs and each pair will see each other once a week. 

 

Cost: $1350/10 sessions (term)

Session duration: 1.5 hours

 

Please note that learners must commit to attending all 10 classes. Playdate programs will work like other social groups. There will be no refunds for missing sessions. The playdate session will become a 1:1 session if one learner needs to miss a session.


Class fees include session time, class prep, and the creation of individualized plans for playdates

The BC’s hourly rate will apply if parents request the following:

  • Team meeting with BC 

  • Have BC join school meetings or meetings with other professionals

  • Create individualized plans for home or school

  • Provide parent training

Plan B

Facilitator: (BCBA)

Location: Centre-based

Playdates are a great way to improve the social and play skills of learners. Each class will be designed and facilitated by a BCBA. Playdates will be paired by BCBAs and each pair will see each other once a week.

Session duration: 1.5 hours

This playdate program works like other social groups. There is no refund for missing a session. The playdate session will become a 1:1 session if one learner needs to miss a session.


Class fees include session time, class prepping, and the creation of individualized plans for playdates

The BC’s hourly rate will apply if parents request the following:

  • Team meeting with BC 

  • Have BC join school meetings or meetings with other professionals

  • Create individualized plans for home or school

  • Provide parent training


Plan C - Outing

Facilitator: (Senior BI)

Location: Various locations

Playdates are a great way to improve the social and play skills of learners. Each class will be designed and facilitated by a BCBA and run by a Senior BI. Playdates will be paired by BCBAs and each pair will see each other once a week.

Additional cost: Parents are responsible for their child’s administration fees for each outing activity as well as the staff who goes with him/her. Students who participate in this outing will share the administration cost of the staff.

 

Session duration: 2 hours of outing bi-weekly (2nd and 4th week) and 1 hour of online meeting bi-weekly (1st and 3rd week).

 

Transportation: Parents are responsible for transportation. Our staff will not use their own vehicle to pick up and drop off your child for outings. Students and the BI will meet at the location or they will meet at a bus stop, then they will depart together.

Bi-Weekly Online Meeting

The purpose of each online meeting is to go over the plan for the next outing trip and discuss the trip from last week.


This playdate program works like other social groups. There is no refund for missing a session. The playdate session will become a 1:1 session if one learner needs to miss a session.


Class fees include direct session time, class preparation, team meeting (SBI and BC) and the creation of individualized plans for playdates by the BCBA

The BC’s hourly rate will apply if parents request the following:

  • Team meeting with BC 

  • Have BC join school meetings or meetings with other professionals

  • Create individualized plans for home or school

  • Provide parent training

FAQ


1. What should I do if I need to miss a session?

Please let the facilitator know as soon as possible.


2. If I need to miss a session, do I contact another parent to cancel the playdate session as well?

No. The playdate partner should still come.


3. What will happen if my child's playdate does not show up? What will my child do during this session?

This session will become a one-to-one social skill session. Your child might join another child/ren if suitable.
