Social Group

Using evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, our program is tailored to various developmental stages, helping participants build confidence, improve peer interactions, and enhance emotional regulation. From foundational skills like turn-taking and group routines to advanced self-advocacy and teamwork, our structured activities are designed to meet individual needs while fostering meaningful growth. With small group sizes and personalized attention, we provide the tools and support your child needs to thrive socially and emotionally in everyday interactions.
Playdate Group
BKBC’s Playdate Program offers a nurturing and interactive environment for children to build social skills and confidence through small group play. Designed for those transitioning from 1:1 learning, this program encourages peer interaction, turn-taking, cooperative play, and emotional regulation in a relaxed, fun setting. Through structured activities like group games, projects, and peer play, children practice essential social behaviors while developing communication and teamwork skills. With tailored support and small group sizes, the Playdate Program helps children thrive in group settings, preparing them for success in larger social environments and fostering meaningful connections with their peers.
Social Group vs Playdate Group
-
Social Groups: Structured lessons with targeted skills practice, featuring a higher adult-learner ratio and class sizes of up to 7 learners (smaller for Pluto). These programs focus on building social, communication, and academic skills in a guided setting.
-
Playdate Programs: Loosely structured environments with smaller class sizes (2–4 learners), emphasizing peer interaction through play, group projects, and snack time. Ideal for children transitioning from 1:1 learning who need additional support to follow group routines.
Teens Outing
BKBC’s Social Teens Outing Program empowers teens with autism to build independence, social confidence, and essential life skills through real-world experiences. Participants practice navigating public transportation, managing budgets, and planning hangouts while developing leadership and communication skills. Group outings, including dining at local restaurants, foster social etiquette and meaningful peer connections. Teens explore the city, engage in collaborative activities, and strengthen friendships in a supportive, small-group setting. With individualized attention and a focus on practical autonomy, this program helps teens grow into confident, capable individuals ready to thrive in everyday social and life situations.
1:1 Behavior Intervention
BKBC’s One-to-One Behavior Intervention Program is tailored to help young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) learn and practice appropriate actions in group and individual settings. This highly personalized approach addresses the unique challenges of each child, focusing on communication, social interaction, and behavior management to foster meaningful progress.
Centre-Based VS Home-Based
-
Centre-Based Intervention: Delivered in a structured, resource-rich environment under the daily supervision of an on-site Behavior Consultant. Children benefit from consistent routines, opportunities for peer interaction, and specialized tools that promote learning in a controlled setting.
-
Home-Based Intervention: Conducted in the comfort of the child’s home, this approach minimizes anxiety, enhances family involvement, and ensures the skills learned are easily integrated into daily life. It’s ideal for families seeking convenience and personalized support tailored to their dynamics.
